Mediate Milwaukee

Communication is key. Start by talking to your property owner. Tenants and Landlords can request mediation and more information online Mediate Milwaukee or by calling (414) 939-8800 or emailing apply@mediatemilwaukee.com. Sooner is better. Applying for mediation before an eviction is filed offers the most benefit, but they offer the service even after an eviction is filed.

Apply For Emergency Rental Assistance Eligible renters may receive up to 12 months of back rent and three or more months of future rent payments.

Emergency Financial Assistance

Unemployment Benefits 

Apply by phone (414) 435-7069 or online at Wisconsin Unemployment. Once you apply you will have to file a weekly claim until you return  to full employment. You may qualify for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) if you were not a traditional employee, such as those are self employed, working in the "gig economy" (Uber drivers etc.) Part time employees, 1099 workers now qualify as do those who must stay home to care for an ill family member. Even if you only recently started the job.

WE Energies

You may consider applying for Energy Assistance Applications over the phone (414) 270-4653, or on-line Apply for Energy Assistance. It takes about an hour to sign up. Eligible applicants receive a $200-$900 credit on their WE Energies bill

  • Hunger Task Force has an on-line map of up-to-date, reliable food sources in the community 
  • MPS is providing Free Meals for Students
  • The Milwaukee County Department on Aging (414) 289-6874 provides home delivery and meal pick up options
  • Wisconsin-FoodShare Information on how to sign up. 
  • Islamic Society Salam School 815 W. Layton Ave. serves free "drive thru" lunch weekdays 11AM to 1PM for area children, regardless of the school they attend. Enter on Carpenter Ave. between 7th and 8th St., and drive past the south entrance of the school to pick up food boxes. Stay in your car. 
  • The Milwaukee Journal published an extensive list of food pantries and lunch programs.
  • United Way Resource list call 866-211-9966 and get a list by zip code.

Impact 2-1-1

Is a free, central access point for wide variety of information, and assistance in times of personal crisis or community disaster. They can also be reached by dialing 211. Toll free Video Relay is available at 1-866-211-3380

The Wisconsin Department of Corrections sex offender registry was established in June 1997 due to the enactment of Wisconsin Act 440 - Wisconsin Statutes 301.45 and 301.46. This law requires registration of individuals who have been convicted of certain sexual offenses.

My Milwaukee Home provides the user with a wide variety of facts about their residence and its surrounding area.
